In the last Behind the Build update, I shared how quickly our home went from a cleared lot to fully framed. As we continue building a home in Glouster Ohio, this next stage has been one of the most exciting so far.
Now, we’ve entered a new phase — and it might be my favorite so far.

From Structure to Style
Over the past few weeks, the progress has been incredible. What was once just framing now looks and feels like a real home.
The windows and exterior doors are installed, and siding is going up. Meanwhile, inside, drywall is finished and the walls are already primed.
With each step, the house gains more personality.

Another angle showing how much natural light this house is going to have. This is one of my favorite parts of the design.

This is the moment the house really started to feel real. The natural light coming through these windows is exactly what we hoped for when we designed this space.

Standing here, it’s easy to picture where the kitchen will come together. It’s amazing how quickly empty space starts to turn into something functional.

This space might not look like much yet, but it’s going to be one of the most used areas in our home.
Watching the Vision Come Together
This is the stage where all the planning starts to make sense.
For the first time, we can truly see how natural light moves through the home. We can walk through each room and understand how the space will function day to day.
The choices we made months ago — on paper — are now right in front of us. Because of that, everything feels more real than ever.
Building a Home in Glouster Ohio: The Exterior Takes Shape
One of the biggest milestones right now is the exterior.
As the siding goes up, the house finally begins to reflect the vision we
had from the start. We’re building a black modern farmhouse with natural wood accents, and now we can actually see that look coming together.
The deck is also framed, which adds another layer to how the home will function. Already, it’s easy to imagine evenings outside, kids playing, and simply enjoying the space.

The exterior is really starting to come together. Seeing the full structure with the deck framed gives us our first real look at how this home will sit on the property.

This view might be one of my favorites already. Between the windows and the setting, it’s easy to picture what this space will feel like once it’s finished.

This angle really shows the hillside and why we designed the layout the way we did. It’s going to be so worth it for the views.
Inside Progress
Inside, things are moving just as quickly.
With drywall complete and primer on the walls, the house feels brighter and more finished. It’s no longer just studs and open space — instead, it’s beginning to feel like real rooms.
At this point, the excitement shifts. It’s not just about building anymore — it’s about creating a home.
As we continue building a home in Glouster Ohio, it’s amazing to see how quickly everything is coming together.
What Comes Next
Next comes one of the most exciting stages — finishes.
Paint, trim, flooring, and cabinets will start to bring everything together. From here, the smaller details will make the biggest impact.
We’re getting closer to the finish line, and it’s exciting to see how quickly everything is moving.
